Saturday 22 May 1971

Tony Allan and Stevi Merike permanently change shows, so that Tony now does the 16.00 to 18.00 slot and Stevi is on from 22.00 to 24.00. However, Tony will be retaining Stevi's special features such as Tea Time Tunes and Favourite Things. Today's full programme schedule is:

6.00 Peter Holland

6.30 Johan Maasbach

7.00 Peter Holland

9.00 Jan Van Veen

12.00 Joost de Draaier (Top 50 and Toekomstmuziek)

16.00 Tony Allan

18.00 Dave Rogers

20.00 Mike Ross

22.00 Stevi Merike

24.00 - 3.00 Dave Rogers

Dave Rogers has an interview with Aquaviva in his 24.00 to 3.00 show. Dave also features only records by the Kinks, Cilla Black and Little Richard between 2.00 and 3.00, a special hour planned for the previous week which did not happen as a result of the bomb attack. The repairs to the Mebo 2 needed after the bomb are to be carried out at sea, as the management of RNI think that, if the ship goes into Scheveningen, it may not be allowed out again.

Stevi Merike mentioned United Artists records after playing one of their new records, so maybe United Artists are supplying records to RNI.

Mike Ross gets a hitpick jingle like the others and there is also a new Smash Play jingle introduced today.

Tony Allan reads the news today.

Sunday 23 May 1971

The breakfast show is presented live from the Mebo 2 today. Tony Allan does the Top 50 show in English from 15.00 to 18.00, so there is no change to the programme schedule later in the day from yesterday.

Stevi Merike says that there will be no regular features in his new 22.00 to 24.00 programme, as he is fed up with doing them.

Dave Rogers, Stevi Merike and Tony Allan read the news today.

Monday 24 May 1971

A number of new features in the Tony Allan show from today - at 16.15 there is the Kiddies spot and Tony's hitpick will be played each day at 16.55 from Monday to Friday. Tony also plays the new White Plains single, "When you are a king" twice in a row and says that all the RNI DJs like it, but consider it too obviously a big hit to make it a hitpick.

Dave Rogers, Stevi Merike and Tony Allan read today's news.

Tuesday 25 May 1971

Dave Rogers interviews Guy Fletcher at 24.10 on Wednesday morning, Dave also reads news, as do Stevi Merike and Tony Allan. Tony asks for listeners to send in children's stories for his Kiddies spot.

Wednesday 26 May 1971

Ferry Maat is on board the Mebo 2 today, although his programme is recorded as usual. Another interview on tonight's Dave Rogers programme, this time with Euson. Dave Rogers and Tony Allan are today's newsreaders.

Thursday 27 May 1971

Dave Rogers and Stevi Merike go off on shore leave and Alan West and Crispian St John return. The programme schedule therefore changes to:

6.30 Johan Maasbach

7.00 Peter Holland

10.00 Jan Van Veen

12.00 Joost de Draaier

14.00 Ferry Maat

16.00 Tony Allan

18.00 Alan West

20.00 Crispian St John

22.00 Alan West

24.00 - 3.00 Mike Ross

Newsreaders are Crispian St John, Mike Ross and Tony Allan.

There is a mobile discotheque today with Jan Van Veen and Ferry Maat.

Friday 28 May 1971

Bad news for RNI today - it is reported that the Dutch government has decided to introduce its equivalent of the Marine Offences Act.

Alan West reintroduces the Queen Victoria's water closet jingle at the beginning of his 18.00 to 20.00 programme.

Newsreaders today are Crispian St John, Mike Ross and Tony Allan.

There is a mobile discotheque show today with Dave Rogers and Peter Holland.

Ex-RNI news........David Gregory is now presenting Radio 1 Club Bulletin Boards on BBC Radio 1.
