Sunday 9 July 1972

The latest edition of Nordsee goes DX is broadcast at 10.00 this morning on shortwave, with Nico Steenbergen filling in for the rest of the hour after the programme has finished. Featured in the programme is "The Nordsee Story Part 3", which includes extracts from Alan West, Vic Pelli and Stevi Merike from the re-opening of the station in February 1971, Alan West, Hans ten Hooge and Dave Rogers from 15 May 1971 (the day of the attack), Terry Davis from 22 November 1971, when the Mebo 2 broke its anchor chain, and Tony Allan from about a month ago. Also mentioned on the programme was that RNI had been testing its second medium wave transmitter, although I have not heard any tests.

International service programmes this evening are:

 19.00 Terry Davis (Hitback Show)

 21.00 Paul May (Cloud Nine)

23.00 Terry Davis (Kent Request Hour)

 24.00 - 3.00 Arnold Layne

Newsreaders are Paul May, Arnold Layne and Terry Davis.

Monday 10 July 1972

Nordsee goes DX is repeated on shortwave as usual. Tonight's programmes are:

 19.00 Paul May

 21.00 Terry Davis

23.00 Terry Davis (Kent Request Hour)

 24.00 - 3.00 Arnold Layne

Paul May says that he will be going on two weeks' holiday on Thursday.

Tuesday 11 July 1972

Terry Davis and Gerard Smit go off on shore leave, whilst Rob Eden, Brian McKenzie and Hans ten Hooge return to the ship. Programmes on the International service therefore change to:

 19.00 Paul May

 21.00 Rob Eden

23.00 Arnold Layne (Kent Request Hour)

 24.00 - 3.00 Brian McKenzie

The shortwave transmitter developed a fault during Driemaster and is therefore off the air for the rest of the day. Paul May cut his hand on a can of 7 Up at 19.50 during his programme and Rob Eden sits in until Paul gets back from having it patched up. Arnold Layne, Brian McKenzie and Rob Eden read the news.

Wednesday 12 July 1972

The shortwave transmitter is back on the air today.

Hans ten Hooge takes over Ochtendeditie. Tony Berk and Tony Allan appear in a mobile discotheque today.

Thursday 13 July 1972

Going off on the tender today are Paul May, Nico Steenbergen and Peter Chicago. Returning to the Mebo 2 are Tony Allan, Leo van der Goot and, in Chicago's place, Frans. Leo takes over on Driemaster and International service programmes are:

 19.00 Arnold Layne

 21.00 Rob Eden

23.00 Tony Allan (Kent Request Hour)

 24.00 - 3.00 Brian McKenzie

Tonight's newsreaders are Tony Allan, Brian McKenzie and Arnold Layne. Arnold announces that he will be going off on two weeks' holiday next Tuesday.

Friday 14 July 1972

The programme schedule is the same as yesterday, with the addition of a Skyline programme from 3.00 to 6.00 on Saturday morning, presented by Mike Ross.

Rob Eden, reading the news at 19.30, announced himself as Robert Eden at the start of the bulletin and as Robbie Eden at the end. Also reading news this evening are Tony Allan, Brian McKenzie and Arnold Layne.

Arnold Layne says about the Casuals' "Tara Tiger Girl" "If nobody else on this boat likes it, I do. Tony Allan dislikes it, Brian McKenzie loathes it, Rob Eden doesn't understand it, but I love it".
