21. De Monitors, Bart Jansen, de Twee Pinten, Vader Abraham, allemaal nieuw
in de Top 50 om het opkomende karnaval luister bij te zetten. De Middle of the
road staan nog rotsvast op nummer 1 met Sacramento. De kanskaarten zijn
allemaal redelijk onbekend gebleven, dit in tegenstelling tot de

evening, as this is to be replaced next week with an International Top 40. Programmes this evening are: 18.00 Rob Eden (In Concert) 19.00 Brian McKenzie 21.00 Mike Ross (Hitback
Show) 23.00 Rob Eden (LP show) 24.00 – 3.00 Dave Rogers In Concert today features Philip Goodhand-Tait. Newsreaders are Dave Rogers, Rob Eden and
Brian McKenzie. A mobile discotheque features Paul May and Tony Berk. Monday 31 January 1972 Newsreaders as yesterday. The programme schedule is the same as on Saturday, except programmes finish at 3.00. Tuesday 1 February 1972 RNI closes at 21.00 today for technical

tender and Paul May, Terry Davis and Leo van der Goot return. Hans ten Hooge
takes over on Driemaster and this evening’s programmes are: 18.00 Rob Eden 20.00 – 21.00 Terry Davis Again, RNI goes off the air at 21.00 for
more work. News up to that time is read by Paul May and Brian McKenzie. Friday 4 February 1972 The station returns to the air at 6.00
and reception is much improved today. The programme
schedule this evening is: 18.00 Rob Eden 20.00 Terry Davis 22.00 Paul May 24.00 Brian McKenzie 3.00 – 6.00 Rob Eden News is read by Rob Eden, Paul May and
Brian McKenzie. The only new record that I wrote down as
having heard on RNI for the first time in the week commencing 29 January 1972
that was not a hitpick was “Drowning in a sea of
love” by Joe Simon. Looking back at this now, although we
didn’t know it at the time, this was the week that Paul May sacked Dave Rogers and took Mike Ross off main DJ duties.
Because of the early closures on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, the final
Dave Rogers programme was from 24.00 to 3.00 in the
morning of Tuesday 1 February 1972, although he would, of course, rejoin RNI
in August 1972 after Paul May had left. |
