The International service had a new DJ around this time, although he had been heard on Radio Caroline earlier in 1973. Robin Banks had broadcast on Radio Caroline as Robin Adcroft both in the early part of the year on 259 metres and in June on 389 metres, but joined RNI in August 1973, replacing Arnold Layne, who had left in July. After this, it would be six months before there was another change in the International service DJ team, the longest period in RNI's history that there were no DJ changes. Robin joined Mike Ross, Don Allen, Brian McKenzie and Graham Gill to make up the DJ team, with occasional assistance from Rob Eden, who had a few tours of duty on the Mebo 2 between August and December 1973.

Mike Ross presented the International Top 30 on Friday 17 August 1973 from 20.00 to 22.00. The Smash Play this week was "Band played the boogie" by CCS. No. 1 was "All right now" by Free, which was, of course, a reissue in 1973. There were only two records in the Top 30 that were not UK hits at the time and these were "I can't explain" by Yvonne Elliman at no. 28 and "Honeybee" by the Equals at no. 30.

On Monday evenings from 19.00 to 20.00 there was a programme of records from no later than 1965, called "65 Min", presented by Hans Molenaar.

Leo van der Goot was the DJ on Driemaster on 18 August 1973, so presented the Troef 20.

The "Hou'm in de lucht" campaign was still appearing regularly in the Dutch service, although the International service effectively ignored the proposed Anti-Zeezenderwet and continued as if nothing was happening. As we all know now, there was still just over a year to go, but we didn't know that then and didn't expect to have another year before the Act came into force.
