DE RNI treiterschijf
is deze week de hoogste nieuwe op nummer 25 : Mozart’s Symphonie Nr 40 van
Waldo de los Rios. True love that’s a wonder (wat is dat voor Engels?) komt
nieuw binnen op nummer 35 en A girl named you van Supersister op nummer 44. Toen,
helemaal in ’t begin van de Top 50, kwam je zulke bijzondere platen nog tegen
in de lijst. Op 49 horen we Gert Timmerman voor het eerst in de Top 50 en Dat
vergeet ik nooit J Van
deze Top 50 is nooit een gedrukt exemplaar verschenen, Hans Blaauwbroek (de
samensteller van het Top 50 boek) heeft er zelf een gemaakt voor de week van

The RNI memories
of Michael Downing for this week Saturday 6 March 1971 Today sees the start of the Dutch
service. The programme schedule is: 6.00 Tony Allan 9.00 Jan Van Veen 12.00 Joost de Draaier (Super Top 50) 16.00 Martin Kayne 18.00 Tony Allan 21.00 Stevi Merike 24.00 - 2.00 Crispian
St John Although Joost
de Draaier presents the new Top 50 show, last
week's Top 50 is still used in the International service. However, both
services use the new hitpicks, Smash Plays and LP
of the week. Sunday 7 March 1971 Today's programmes
are: 6.00 Tony Allan 9.00 Jan Van Veen 12.00 Joost de Draaier 15.00 Crispian St John (Super Hit 50) 18.00 Tony Allan However, the station goes off the air at
about 19.00 and doesn't return. Monday 8 March 1971 RNI is back on the air at 6.00. The
International service follows the same schedule as on Saturday, but the
weekday Dutch service is: 9.00 Jan Van Veen 12.00 Joost de Draaier 14.00 - 16.00
Ferry Maat There is a tender today, but no change in
Djs. Tuesday 9 March 1971 A storm was expected at around 18.00, so
Tony Allan pre-recorded his evening show. However, there were no breaks in
transmissions as a result of the storm. Wednesday 10 March 1971 An uneventful day on the Mebo 2, but it is reported today that Radio Veronica has
issued a writ against the owners of the Mebo 2,
claiming that the ship is still on hire to Radio Veronica and that it is
broadcasting in breach of this agreement. The outcome of the case should be
known soon. Thursday 11 March 1971 Martin Kayne
and Crispian St John go off on shore leave and Alan
West and Dave Rogers return. This alters the programme
schedule to: 6.00 Tony Allan 9.00 Jan Van Veen 12.00 Joost de Draaier 14.00 Ferry Maat 16.00 Dave Rogers 18.00 Alan West 21.00
Stevi Merike 24.00 - 2.00 Dave Rogers Friday 12 March 1971 New records out on the Mebo 2 today include those by Gilbert O'Sullivan, Dave
